Zimbabwe Coach Tests Positive For COVID-19 At Start Of Sri Lanka Tour

The Zimbabwe head coach Lalchand Rajput will miss the initial two one-day internationals in Sri Lanka in the wake of testing positive for Covid-19 toward the beginning of the visit, an authority said on Monday.

Sri Lanka's top games specialist Arjuna de Silva said Rajput was asymptomatic, yet was put under perception at an emergency clinic prior to being separated at a lodging.

"We are doing a few routine tests and he will actually want to return to an inn," de Silva told AFP. "There will be a 10-day quarantine period which implies he will miss the initial two matches."

The ODI series will be played at the Pallekele Stadium in the focal city of Kandy on January 16, 18 and 21.

De Silva said different individuals from the Zimbabwe crew tested negative and will proceed with their training as arranged.
